This hawk is made of S5 shock resistant steel hardened to Rockwell 55. The hawk with horse-hide blade cover weighs 1 lb. 2 oz. The flame hardened hickory handle is 14 3/4 inches long, and is decorated with a red trade-wool and coyote rawhide wrap with brass tacks. The head is 5 1/4 inches long, and the cutting edge is just under 3 3/4 inches long. It has a flat hammer poll for pounding stakes, cracking nuts, etc.
