This little drop point was forged from a file. It has a widened finger pad at the ricasso. Cutting edge is 3 3/8 inches, almost 4 to the guard area, and 6 ľ inches long overall. This blade makes a great little hunter. Itís especially good for wood handles with cast pewter bolsters. Some customers just wrap rawhide, or sinew at the front of the handle.

#3   Forged-Guard Large Hunter

$65.00

This integral-guard hunter has a cutting edge 3 Ĺ inches long, 4 3/8 to the handle, and 6 ĺ inches overall. The guard is forged-on with a widened finger pad. This saves you all the drilling and filing on a piece of brass. Just epoxy on a bone or antler and file down to the guard. Itís so hard your file will just skate over it. Then polish with wet-or-dry sandpaper down to 600 grit and youíll have a functional period using knife. D2 steel at Rockwell 58-59.

 #6   Small Forged-Guard Hunter

$55.00

Just like its larger brother this little hunter is 3 inches on the cutting edge, 3 and 13/16ths to the handle, and 6 ľ inches overall. Since the guard is forged-on all you have to do is glue on an antler, file it down to the guard, and sand it out. Itís small, but Iíve used one to skin everything from raccoons to elk. D2 steel at Rockwell 58-59.

#22  Narrow - Tang Mini-Skinner

This is your serious skinning knife. Designed with plenty of belly, the cutting edge on this one is just over 2 inches. These are ground down to a thin V edge for shaving sharpness, but the Dendritic D2 steel works best for skinning when it's a little dull. The carbide crystals, at the cutting edge, just keep on cutting, but won't nick a hide like a sharper knife would. A small deer antler with the crown makes a good handle for this blade. Rockwell 58-59.

Like my other Mini-Skinner, this full-tang model has the same skinning blade. It's just over 2 inches long, and will take small slabs for the handle. Epoxy on one handle, drill from the back side, then epoxy on the other handle before pinning to get them lined up just right. Dendritic D2 steel, at Rockwell 58-59.
